Thrasher
Thrasher can rightfully be considered the most influential brand in skateboarding. The Bible, as it was known, defined what skateboarding was and where it was headed—especially before the internet era.
Why is this the case? Eric Swenson and Fausto Vitello founded Thrasher in 1981 because skateboarding's popularity was waning. After its launch, skateboarding exploded almost immediately as a sport.
Thrasher was—and still is—at the core of skateboarding, and it was Thrasher that brought together skateboarders worldwide as a common magazine. While shoes could often tell you if someone was skating, seeing a Thrasher t-shirt or hoodie sealed the deal.
SOTY (Skater of the Year), named by Thrasher, remains the highest honor one can receive in skateboarding.
In 2020, Thrasher published Beyond's 'Beytour' skate film. This marked the first Finnish skate film to be featured in Thrasher. Watch Beytour HERE.
