Pro skater Jerry Hsu's career seemed to be coming to an end. Instead of skateboarding, he found himself drawn to photography, and the idea of starting a skateboard company was far from his mind. His wife encouraged him to at least make hats, if nothing else, and so they made a small batch of 24 caps.
Hsu still enjoys photography, but Sci-Fi Fantasy has evolved into a skate brand driven by a natural force of creativity—one that he’s proud to lead as both its creative and operational head.
This is exactly what Sci-Fi Fantasy is as a brand: it’s not about calculations or predictions—it's about embracing what comes. A small batch of hats made for friends turned into a boundary-pushing, wildly popular brand, even though initially, there was no intention of creating a brand at all.
